THE SPANISH GOVERNMENT WILL LIMIT CASH PAYMENT UP TO 1.000,00 EUROS

The obligation to verbally declare cash equal to or more than 10.000 euros when passing through the international transit areas of the airports situated on the territory of Member States

Related to the judgement of the Court of Justice of the European Union of 4th May 2017 (Case C-17/16) and in the application of the Regulation (EC) No 1889/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council on controls of cash entering or leaving the Community and Regulation (EC) No. 562/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a Community Code on the rules governing the movement of persons across borders (Schengen Borders Code), it is concluded the obligation to verbally declare cash money and equivalent means of payment equal to or more than 10.000 euros when passing through the international transit areas of the airports situated on the territory of Member States.
