The lawyers are going to accelerate the processing of the requests of citizenship by residence when processing them electronically.

On Tuesday 25 of July, the General Council of Spanish Lawyers and the Ministry of Justice, signed an agreement to enable the lawyers to present, with their own Lawyers Electronic Certificate, the requests of citizenship by residence of their represented clients. When the lawyer will present the requests documentation, by a special informatic platform, the subscribed Bar Association’s will review the documentation and attach a certificated of approval when the requirements are fulfilled. This agreement stablishes the obligation of the Council to guarantee the previous control of the requests, and ensure that only the requests that that accomplish all the requirements will be the ones integrated in the system. This will reduce the processing time and facilitate the rating of the requests. To this day, is not known the entry in to force date.
