The flight cancelation notice must be warned at least 2 weeks in advance, otherwise passengers should be compensated

According to the judgement of the Court of Justice of the European Union of 11th May 2017 (Case C-302/16) and applying the Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing common rules on compensation and assistance to passengers in the event of denied boarding and of cancellation or long delay of flights, it is important to consider that the air carrier has the duty of informing the passengers about the flight cancelation at least two weeks before the scheduled time of departure, without taking into account whether it is an on-line flight reservation or done through a tour operator. Consequently, the air carrier is responsible for informing their customers of the flight cancelation and when it has been reported. The passengers have a right to claim compensation to the airline if they have not been properly informed.
